Oceans of Fun!
These were just slides in the Captain Kidd's and Crocodile Isle part of the Park--Trey and Jones hung out here most of the day. Laynie and I were a little more adventurous!
A 'Royal' Time in Kansas City!

Trey and I took the kids to Kansas City with our friends Ty and Heather for a jam packed weekend of FUN! We have known Ty and Heather almost 10 years--we have lots of memories with them, but our kids have never really had a chance to play together so that was one plus for this weekend, our kids finally met.
We started off Friday by swimming at the pool and introducing the little ones--Laynie 5, Ella 4 in July, Jones 3, and Layton 3 in August. After letting our guys 'work on their tan,' we headed off to watch the KC Royals and St. Louis Cardinals play baseball AND it was Fireworks Friday! My kids did much better at the ballgame than was expected, as long as Jones had some nachos or peanuts he was happy! It really was fun with lots to see. The Royals won on Friday night, and our kids LOVED the fireworks (wish I could say the same for Ella :-) )! I really had a good time also!
Saturday morning began with breakfast at the hotel and then a day full of entertainment at Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun. I will admit Trey and I thought the amusement park would be better than the water park, but as it turned out our kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVED the water park. I bet Jones went down one set of water slides at least 50 times! As we were leaving the park (with a last minute funnel cake stop and just one more ride for Laynie), I sat down with Jones and I'm not kidding--he was asleep in seconds! Oh by the way, Miss Laynie went on the Mamba rollercoaster with Trey, and let me tell you it was high and fast--no loops, but it definitely took your stomach away--she already LOVES rollercoasters (and she's tall enough to ride the BIG ones)!
Sunday we tried to do a little shopping, but not much was open before noon. We walked down to Union Station; very cool for our train crazy boy and then we ate at Fritz's Railroad Restaurant where they deliver your food by TRAIN--all the kids (and even the dads) liked it! We made a few shopping stops, with the best one at the Crayola Store!
We had a great time--thanks for planning it ALL Heather!

Getting Brave!
Laynie ended last summer by swimming all over the pool AND jumping off the diving board at Momo and Grandad's; however this summer she has only been swimming in the pool until TODAY. All afternoon I would ask her if she wanted to go off the board only to hear, "No Mommy, I'm NOT ready yet!" Well just before getting out of the pool she had worked up her confidence level--take a look at her go!
Great Friends
This post is really just to say a BIG Thank You to my friend, Damitra. Have you ever met someone and instantly you just knew you would be friends for life? Well that's how it was for us so long ago at a basketball game in Clinton, AR. Her fiance (at the time) and Trey had met playing ball (of course) soon after we moved to Heber Springs. I finally met Damitra in October of 2000, and from then on we have been friends.
She has gone through lots of good times and even some bad with me--I will be forever grateful for her friendship. All this is just to say THANKS for watching my kids while we had our 'day at the doctors' in Little Rock (no worries, all is well--just a check-up)! Damitra is a great wife, wonderful mom, and terrific friend--I love you girl!

How Kids See God
My cousin sent me this e-mail a few weeks ago, and at the time I thought if I had a blog I would post this. Well now that I have one, here it is for your enjoyment!
A fifth grade teacher in a Christian school asked her class to look at TV commercials and see if they could use them in some way to communicate ideas about God.
Here are the results:
God is like.. BAYER ASPIRIN He works miracles.
God is like... a FORD He's got a better idea.
God is like... COKE He's the real thing.
God is like... HALLMARK CARDS He cares enough to send His very best.
God is like... TIDE He gets the stains out that others leave behind.
God is like... GENERAL ELECTRIC He brings good things to life.
God is like... SEARS He has everything.
God is like... ALKA-SELTZER Try him, you'll like Him
God is like... SCOTCH TAPE You can't see him, but you know He's there.
God is like... DELTA He's ready when you are.
God is like... ALLSTATE You're in good hands with Him.
God is like... VO-5 Hair Spray He holds through all kinds of weather.
God is like... DIAL SOAP Aren't you glad you have Him? Don't you wish everybody did?
God is like.... the U.S. POST OFFICE Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet , nor ice will keep Him from His appointed destination.
If you can think of a comparison, e-mail me or leave me a comment and we'll see if my friends can be as clever as these kids were. Have a wonderful day! :-)
