Halloween Treats

I LOVE to make really cute desserts, but unfortunately mine don't turn out as cute as the pictures. Well that all changed this Halloween!

First on my list of goodies was a Ghost Cake. Make a batch of cupcakes, arrange them in the shape of a ghost and ice them with white icing. Use two oreos for the eyes and crumble oreos for an oval mouth. Next I attempted Spider Web Cupcakes that are by far the cutest things I have made in a long time. Make the cupcakes and let them cool. Dip them in chocolate melted icing for a smooth finish. (I forgot to take a picture of that step.) Then melt almond bark and pipe the shape of a spider's web on wax paper. Put webs in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden. Take off cookie sheet and place on the cupcake. How cute is that??? Then I made lime green frosting and piped spider legs and place a yogo for the body of the spider--super cute! Then Mr. Spider had to have a face! How precious is he? I love him and can't wait to eat him up! :) Now check out our Halloween Spread--you would think we were having a party, but we're not because we don't know anyone to party with! So if you are one of my friends out there and if you have nothing better to do, come see us and we'll fill you up with goodies!

Community Helper Parade

It was Grandparent's Day/Community Helper Parade at Conway Christian School today. Guess who was the cutest little fire fighter around?I may be a tad bit biased, but he was super cute!!! There was a parade around the gym and then each child was introduced. They did a wonderful job! :)

Join the Team....

Don't Do DRUGS!

It's Red Ribbon Week here in V-town so that means a fun daily activity at VES. Monday was wear red, Wednesday put a Cap on Drugs (wear your favorite hat), and Thursday was Join the Drug Free team (wear your favorite team shirt).

Everyday there is a contest and guess who won for first grade yesterday?
That's right--Laynie did! She was super excited--I think it was the pom pom in her hair that put her over the top! :)

I was browsing through all my photos and found these--how precious are these two cutie pies? We miss you Beckah! :)

Dancing Machine

I really have so much to post that I don't know where to begin---so how about the funniest video? That sounds good to me!!! Jones will be quite the ham at the JR High Dances I'm sure--just like his Daddy! ha/ha

Some Thoughts

We have been in our new town for a full week now, and I've already learned a whole list of things! These are just a few things I have been thinking about over the week:

~ There will always be a traffic jam (or at least a 20 minute wait) when K through 12th grade schools are at the same location in a small town!
~ Wallpaper is NOT fun to take down.
~ I will be able to live with, in my opinion, "ugly wallpaper" longer than I originally thought possible.
~ A little paint makes a HUGE difference in a room.
~ There are still really nice people in this world.
~ No matter what town you live in, you are going to make friends that you will miss terribly when you leave them.
~ I am married to a really smart engineer that can fix or do just about anything I ask him to! :)
~ It's nice to not have ANY responsibilites outside my house (at least for the time being).
~ I love watching the HOGS when Ryan Mallet is a passing machine! :)
~ If you don't specifically make time for certain things they will NEVER happen: excercising, reading the Bible, blogging, dusting, etc.
~ You don't know how dependent you become on Wal-Mart until the closest one is at least 25 minutes away! (Maybe my bill will go down?)
~ I LOVE having a big kitchen.
~ More than anything I want my kids to be happy wherever we are!
~ On that note, DO NOT play the game Sorry! with a competitive four year old and go by the rules (especially if his big sister is playing and showing No Mercy!). A fun night of Family Games didn't end so well for the little one! :)

Pumpkin Patch

I know, I know--there are plenty of things I need to blog about with the big move and all, but I'm too busy to spend an hour or more in front of the computer right now...there is MUCH to be done around here!

We took a couple of hours today and spent it at the Pumpkin Patch in Mayflower. The kids really enjoyed themselves. It's so nice to have good friends close by too!
