An Award for You

My friend that I have known longer than anyone on the face of the earth, Leigh Ann, bestowed this honor on me yesterday--I would gladly give it to her again because she is one of my favorite people in the world and the best personal photographer a girl could ask for, but I don't think I can, that might break the rules! So my winners are:

To Meredith--My forever friend that I can't imagine my life without--she's the sweetest, would do anything for you girl in the ENTIRE world, and she's pretty resourceful too! She can cook, craft, and keep a smile on my face!

To Amy--My newest, bestest buddy who brings a little bit of sunshine to my days--she's got the most amazing voice and WOW can she sing beautiful praises to her Lord. She has already taught me so much in a short time--facebook, blogging, texting, Chinese food, the need for current events, & a passion for praising Jesus just to name a few! (Guess I wouldn't be in the 21st century yet without her.)

To Julie--My faraway friend that I wish lived closer to me so I could really get to know her! She's absolutely one of the craftiest girls around! Her cards, scrapbook pages and frames (just to name a few) make me want to pack all my supplies up and send them to her so she can just make all my stuff for me too! :-) Not to mention I desire a craft room just like hers! I guess now it would be OK for Trey to get a job at GP because I just know I would have an instant friend in her!

Chicken Parmesan

Laynie had her friend, Rebeckah, spend the night last night and I cooked Chicken Parmesan or Yummy Pasta as the kids called it. Beckah said I had to get the recipe to her Mommy, so Amy, this is for you!

4 to 5 chicken breasts
1 egg, beaten
1 jar spaghetti sauce (I use Ragu, who knows what brand they use in GA ha/ha)
seasoned Italian bread crumbs
1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese
egg noodles (or whatever pasta you have on hand)

Cut the chicken breasts into pieces, dip into egg and toss in bread crumbs. Brown chicken in skillet until juices are translucent (not very long). In a casserole dish, place chicken in a single layer; spread with mozzarella cheese; pour sauce over cheese; top with Parmesan. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve chicken over noodles.

Kinderkidz Part Two

Laynie and Jones' Kinderkidz camp wrapped up this past Saturday with a performance at UAFS. I really think it was good for Laynie to go--she knew no one on the first day of camp and by Saturday she had already made friends with a little girl named Savannah. I knew right then she had her Daddy's personality--I did not like being left alone in new situations, who am I kidding, I still don't! I didn't know what they would teach the kids during the camp, so on Saturday they performed three number. First they used scarves to dance like sunflowers to an instrumental song, then they danced to a song (see the video), and finally they sang, danced, and did motions to "Never Smile at a Crocodile." Well the age group right above her did a musical number from Suesical--and she LOVED it (it was very good, and kind of more what I thought her class would be doing) so I think we will be doing more things with the theater department at UAFS--who knows Laynie may turn out to be my little actress after all!

Running

Okay this post is for EVERYONE out there to give me a little encouragement. My love language is Words of Affirmation, so that's what I need--kind words to lift me up especially as I start this new endeavor! (Just a side note--for anyone reading this that has never heard of love languages, you need to check out The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. I will give Love Languages it's own post later on.)

Back to my point--I AM RUNNING AGAIN--that's right, I am running. My favorite black skirt (that I can't remember how long I have had it & that it has fit me) doesn't fit! Boo-hoo--can you feel my pain? Well the only time I have really felt good and in shape was right after all my chemo treatments were over in January of '07. I began running and then in the Spring of '07, we had a Women Can Run Clinic in Heber Springs. We ran over 10 weeks to 'train' for a 5K race in May. Well I was fit and felt good! Since I had just previously been diagnosed with cancer & gone through all that stinky chemo stuff, my mindset when running was if I can do all of that and be fine, then surely I can run. Well I am competitive and did not want anyone to beat me in our Heber group, so I ran and when it hurt I ran some more! I put on my MP3 Player and worshipped while I ran--I can even play drums while running with a couple of songs! :-)

So if you see me, talk to me via phone or e-mail, hold me accountable. Ask me if I ran today or yesterday--ask me how it's going. If I know people are going to ask, I am more likely to do it! I started running Sunday night and in 3 days I have already gone 8 miles(2.5, 3.5, 2)--not great, but better than any other week of the summer. So on Saturdays I will try to leave a running update that logs my mileage and minutes to hold me accountable to you the readers (whomever you may be)!

Daddy if you have any tips, let me know!!! Do I look at my miles or minutes? For those of you that don't know this about me, my Daddy just happens to have been the BEST (I am not joking) high school track/cross country coach in Arkansas! He won't like that I put that, but it's true and my Mom and I are happy to tell others that fact about him!

Our 10th Anniversary

Well today is the day! Trey and I have been married for 10 years--the time has really flown by. I don't think we really knew what to expect when we took our vows--'for better or for worse; in sickness and in health' but we made it! I am looking forward to see what God has in store for us over the next 10 years!

If you are listening to the music on my site, you will notice a new song playing "From This Moment"--yes I realize some of you reading this might think it is cheesy, but that's me--just a sappy, romantic at heart! Trey asked what I would want to do for my perfect date tonight, and I said, "You really don't want to know because you would (once again) think I had watched too many movies!"

So here's a list of some of the things that happened in our 10 years of marriage:

10 years together
9 pair of running shoes (maybe not quite that many) :-)
8 (or so) vacations
7 hospital stays (NO JOKE)
6 moves/homes/addresses
5 cell phone numbers
4 vehicles
3 churches
2 children and bouquets of roses :-)
1 happy & blessed couple!

I truly am a lucky girl; no Trey's not the most romantic of guys most days (he has had a few instances, like our engagement story), but I know without a shadow of a doubt that he love me! I am so glad he asked me to marry him all those years ago, and I would gladly tell him yes all over again! Keep on listening to my music today, #2 is pretty romantic too--I guess "Carried Away" would be "our song" if I had to pick one.
