Mother's Day

Mother's Day is always a sweet day for me; it's a day to remember what our Moms have done and continue to do for us and a day for me to enjoy my kids. I have been blessed with two beautiful, smart, healthy children. Sometimes I take this for granted...many days I don't really want to play cars with Jones long enough...many nights I don't really want to sing one more song to my precious Laynie. But they are growing up so fast, how much longer will they really want Mommy to do those things?

After hearing that one of our friends lost their 2 year old little boy, Collin, last night, it makes me hurt so much for them...please pray for Emily and Phillip Marsh as they go through this difficult journey. Collin lost his battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia after almost 1 1/2 years. He was diagnosed at just 7 months old. After thinking about (but not even possibly comprehending) what they are feeling, I slipped in to tuck my children in one more time last night and pray over them. What precious gifts children are...take time to be with your kids today and enjoy every ounce of them! Do something special or just something ordinary, curl up a read a book, have a picnic, go on a bike ride, eat an ice cream cone, hug them and let them know how special you think they are...

Not too long ago Jones' preschool had Mornings with Mom. The Moms were able to have juice and a pastry with our little ones and then we were entertained with poems, songs, and Scripture the children have learned throughout the spring semester. This was by far the sweetest song a Mom could hear! I know your children all think this about you, but to hear these little ones sing it was great...I love my little man! Make sure your kids know that you love them (no matter how old they might be).

Neglected

That's right...I'm talking about my blog. Holy Cow it has been almost a month since I have even attempted to post anything. I just looked through my pictures and thought I could be here for awhile. I promise, promise, promise to try and be more frequent blogger. I began to think why is it that I don't blog more regularly like I once did...here are just a few of the reasons.

~We moved into an older home and there is ALWAYS something I could be working on or painting on!
~We moved and the kids currently go to schools in two different towns which equals at least 2 1/2 hours in the car &/or waiting in the car line 3 days a week (that my friends is ALOT of time).
~We moved and I have become more of a bookworm these days...meaning I frequent the library and have read everything Nicholas Sparks has written (probably 6 books since moving here), The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards, and any Karen Kingsbury book I haven't read yet--I'm currently up to date on her too! Side note: If you like fiction read her books!!!! Go out today and check out Redemption. It's the first book in a line of 14 books about the Baxter Family~they are my favorite!
~We moved and we have a much bigger yard to care for so you guessed it...I'm learning to mow (on a riding lawn mower that is)!
~And finally we moved and Spring Sports are HUGE here. With both kiddos playing ball sometimes we are at the ballpark 3 or 4 nights a week...sounds like alot, but we are all loving it! :)

I promise to get better...don't count me out yet...bear with me please...more posts to come!

T-Ball Time

Say hello to a Crain Bulldog--Jones Tucker, #21! He seems to be liking T-ball OK--he's learning quite a bit about baseball--like you better put out good effort or you will be in BIG trouble when you get home! :) Seriously he's hitting off the tee rather well and tries to field the ball between his legs. I really think his favorite thing right now is running the bases, especially scoring a run! He is playing left field so once a ball goes that far it is usually hit hard enough to make it to the fence--yes he likes to chase those down and tackle someone if they get there first! Jones' Daddy (who just happened to 'volunteer' for his team after our first practice) is learning quite a bit as well about how to teach little ones about baseball. We are spending quite a bit of our free time at the ball park, but we are enjoying these fun filled, busy days too! The video below is his first 'base hit'. He was happy he got on base--can you tell?

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter yesterday and I hope you & your family did as well! I'm so thankful that we can celebrate the resurrection of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ!

At our new church we have a very diverse style of music from the great hymns of old to the wonderful new worship songs. We actually sang a few of both yesterday--we sang one of my favorite Easter hymns, and the chorus actually brought me to tears--it's not often a hymn does that...

Up from the grave He Arose
With a mighty triumph or His foes
He arose the victor of the dark domain
and He lives forever with His Saints to reign
He Arose, He Arose, Hallelujah Christ Arose!

Oh how I love those words--I could have sung it with my eyes closed...I desperately want my children to know it as well. We tried to focus on the real meaning of Easter this year with the kids...don't get me wrong, we died eggs and hunted them too, but Easter is soooooo much more than bunnies and eggs.

It's all about JESUS!Go here for a current, powerful worship song that we sang in our Easter service as well--Revelation Song. I hope it blesses you like it does me!

Happy Easter (a day late)!

Going, Going, GONE!

Baseball season has begun, but it's not what you think...Jones hasn't hit a homerun yet. In fact he still has a looooooong way to go before that event could actually happen!
However a few things have been going on around here...here's a look at our big 5 year old and all his precious teeth...Looks like they are beginning to go (he's only lost one tooth in this picture even though it appears to be 2). Jones' smile was not so pretty for a couple of weeks..he reminded me of an old man losing teeth! :)Now they are both GONE! Ahhh, a cute smile once again!Actually now that I've seen all the pictures...he looks precious to me in all of them! Check this silly one out of him--it's his I'm getting ready to mean & growl at you face! Why do I have the sneaky feeling I'm going to have more silly pictures than serious ones of Jones?
