Mother's Day is always a sweet day for me; it's a day to remember what our Moms have done and continue to do for us and a day for me to enjoy my kids. I have been blessed with two beautiful, smart, healthy children. Sometimes I take this for granted...many days I don't really want to play cars with Jones long enough...many nights I don't really want to sing one more song to my precious Laynie. But they are growing up so fast, how much longer will they really want Mommy to do those things? After hearing that one of our friends lost their 2 year old little boy, Collin, last night, it makes me hurt so much for them...please pray for Emily and Phillip Marsh as they go through this difficult journey. Collin lost his battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia after almost 1 1/2 years. He was diagnosed at just 7 months old. After thinking about (but not even possibly comprehending) what they are feeling, I slipped in to tuck my children in one more time last night and pray over them. What precious gifts children are...take time to be with your kids today and enjoy every ounce of them! Do something special or just something ordinary, curl up a read a book, have a picnic, go on a bike ride, eat an ice cream cone, hug them and let them know how special you think they are...
Not too long ago Jones' preschool had Mornings with Mom. The Moms were able to have juice and a pastry with our little ones and then we were entertained with poems, songs, and Scripture the children have learned throughout the spring semester. This was by far the sweetest song a Mom could hear! I know your children all think this about you, but to hear these little ones sing it was great...I love my little man! Make sure your kids know that you love them (no matter how old they might be).
